It's getting colder outside, but that won't stop us! The children wrapped up warm and enjoyed a lot of different types of play today.

Thank you to all the parents and children who have supported Children In Need today!
The children enjoyed decorating a yellow Pudsey biscuit as a treat this afternoon. We have been enjoying the story of "We're Going on a Bear Hunt!" by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury. We went on our very own "Bear Hunt" - and we did say "We're not scared!". We hope you enjoy our photographs - can you see which one is going through the swishy swashy grass, the deep cold river, the thick oozy mud, a big dark forest, a swirling whirling snowstorm and last of all, a narrow gloomy cave. We couldn't go under it, we couldn't go over it - we just had to go through it! We were so brave. It really was a "beautiful day!" We hope your child can re-tell this story to you at home. Thank you. We have been updating our wonderful outdoor classroom today. The children voted on what they wanted to plant and the wonderful Mrs King helped us to plant an apple tree, strawberries, rhubarb, brussel sprouts and much more!! Our new sensory area is nearly complete!
It has a sensory seat and long grasses for the children to walk through. We were very busy using our den building skills to create Goldilocks kitchen. The children built walls, a table, chairs and chose three different sized bears to eat at the table. They even decided to create kitchen cupboards, a cooker, added a tablecloth and all cutlery. Well done children! You really displayed fantastic imagination and creative thinking skills today.
The children were SO excited for their first PE lesson. They were brilliant at changing independently and enjoyed travelling around the hall in a variety of ways. Here are the Ladybirds exploring different levels. Can you guess who is high and who is low? Here are the Butterflies enjoying their first PE lesson. We practised finding a space, finding a partner, and making high and low shapes. We think we look very smart. Please enjoy our pictures.
We are beginning to learn how to form our letters properly. We will be learning all about sitting on the line, no flying letters, talls, smalls and hang belows! But for now we are getting used to trying to spell words all on our own, thinking about what sounds we can hear and how to write them. Look at our impressive writing! Wow! Well done Butterflies. We have been learning about the story of Goldilocks. We have read different versions of the story from books and on the IWB. We really enjoyed playing the parts of the characters, and some of us were the narrator. We used big clear voices and played to an audience (our friends!). We had to remember the order of the story as well as our lines. We had great fun. We hope you enjoy looking at our pictures. This week we have been busy learning to recognise 'Numicon' shapes and put them in the correct order.
